Overview

Landmark Senior Living Communities, an owner/operator of Assisted Living properties, is seeking a Staff Nurse to assist with all aspects of resident care at Landmark at Longwood, our Memory and Traditional Care community in Boston, MA. The position reports directly to the Resident Care Manager. The position is full time (40 hours per week).

 

Staff Nurse Job Purpose:

 

To provide a safe, home-like environment where a person’s quality of life can be maintained through a supportive environment that fosters and encourages their independence through the promotion of good health, an active lifestyle and personalized care.

Responsibilities

  • Staff Nurse Job Duties:

     

    • Provides care to residents as delegated by Resident Care Manager.
    • Assesses potential residents for admission to facility.
    • Develops, implements, maintains and reviews individualized services plans for residents as delegated by Resident Care Manager.
    • Identifies safety hazards and implements corrective action as necessary.
    • Completes reports and assignments timely and accurately.
    • Establishes open communication lines between Resident Care and other departments and teams consistently.
    • Responsible for safety of residents under his/her care.
    • Observes infection control, hazardous materials and all other health and safety procedures relating to nursing and housekeeping services.
    • Acts as liaison to Resident Care Manager and Executive Director to direct, evaluate and supervise all resident care.
    • Interviews, hires and counsels Resident Care Assistants with Resident Care Manager as necessary. 
    • Observes all facility safety policies and procedures.
    • Observes Resident's Rights policies at all times. 
    • Performs all other duties as assigned by Resident Care Manager.

Qualifications

  • Staff Nurse Qualifications:

     

    • Must have active LPN or RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
    • Must have minimum 3 years experience as a nurse.
    • Must have a working knowledge of EOEA regulations.
    • Must have adequate computer literacy.
    • Prior experience in Long Term Care facilities, especially Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing, is strongly preferred.
    • Experience with some dementia care is helpful.
    • The right candidate will have strong communication skills.
    • The right candidate must have a passion for working with seniors.
    • The position requires some on-call coverage,  some weekend coverage and some holiday coverage
